NCOALINK Computer-Based Mailing List Processing Services
The NCOALINK service is based on a consolidated
file of move information that contains millions of permanent Change-of-Address
(COA) records filed with the United States Postal Service® (USPS®).
Each week, Business Ink receives an updated 18-month data set of
COA’s from the USPS®.
Each record in the COA file contains the relocating postal customer’s
name along with the old and new address. The name and address in
the customer’s mailing list is compared to the COA file, and
when a match is made, the NCOALink™ process returns the new,
as well as the old (original), address information. Business Ink
can then print the mailpiece with the new address, and return a
data file to the customer showing the new address as well as the
old address, and other pertinent information.
The service has four distinct benefits:
- a means to update your database when customers or prospects
do not notify you of their new address;
- faster delivery (the mailpiece is printed with the new address,
instead of mailing to and then rerouting from the old address);
- decision-making capabilities on whether a mailpiece should be
mailed, based on the location of the new address.
- a means to meet the Move Update requirement for First-Class™
presort mailings
